This is the third year in a row, that learners and teachers from PHSG, have been invited to attend this five day course in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
It is part of the American South, most of us only read about. Some of you may have seen "The Secret Life of Bees" - a movie which was flighted earlier this year about just this area. The author of this NOVEL lives in Charleston and in fact, this absolutely charming city will be visited by the groups from Pretoria.
The debaters have been in "ning" contact with the students in the U.S.A. and then via teleconference, we will share a global classroom with the groups on 10 June. Prof York Bradshaw heads this intiative. This year the groups to represent PHSG at the institute are Mrs Knoetze, Tumi Ramafoko and Elize de Kock.
Joining them for the first time from Pretoria Secondary High School are also Mrs A Williams and Reinhold Williams.
Besides the breath-taking Appalachian mountain scenery, the old-style charm of plantation houses and quaint, Victorian colleges, the group will also meet Americans from all walks of life - from the wealthiest to those in the projects.
We know they are going to have the most splendid time and the Americans can't wait to see their fancy uniforms and hear about life in the Jacaranda City.
Best Wishes!
