Accounting

Accounting must be one of the most valuable subjects for every pupil. The job section of every newspaper is filled with advertisements for careers in the Accounting field. These include accounting clerks, accountants and chartered accountants, the last of which is currently one of the highest paid careers in the country.

Chartered accountants are often appointed in managerial positions of large companies, both nationally and internationally. Even though it is not necessary to take Accounting at school to become an accountant, it does provide an invaluable insight into, and understanding of, the principles that govern the field.

The school Accounting course requires:

  • An ability to work with percentages and ratios.
  • To think logically.
  • It is most important that learners work conscientiously and consistently throughout the year.

If learners dream of someday owning and managing their own business, Accounting is crucial. Every entrepreneur and businesswoman should have some understanding of the subject to guard herself against fraud.
