Music Department
In recent years a generous building programme has doubled the size and scope of the Music Department. The music centre consists of a purpose-built rehearsal room, computer room with ten PC workstations and eleven other teaching and practice rooms.
The emphasis in individual tuition is on enjoyment of the instruments and music lessons, which are taught by the music staff of four full-time teachers and twelve visiting teachers. The instruments that are taught, range from electric guitar and drums to a wide range of standard orchestral instruments.
Girls who play an orchestral instrument can be part of the school orchestra, string ensemble, woodwind ensemble or saxophone ensemble. The large number of girls who enjoy singing can join the Senior or Junior choirs, or Rhythmony. Girls are able to achieve high honours in local Eisteddfods, UNISA, Trinity exams and in the Royal Schools.
