PHSG basketball began as a low key sport, with two courts, not many balls and few (a small number of) players. Nowadays we have 4 courts, new hoops and an ever growing interest in the sport. We have 6 teams which include 2 teams for each age group. All teams participate in the D4 schools league which includes most (primarily) Pretoria high schools and one or two club teams.

P.H.S.G has always been very successful in this league coming in the top 3 positions every year in all age groups. We also participate in various tournaments throughout the year. This year we are introducing social basketball for those girls who wish to play for fun, learn about the game of basketball and develop new skills without the pressure of performing in a team. Basketball is a fun (exhilarating) sport and anyone can play it, all you need is enthusiasm, determination and the will to learn.
