Lifesaving

Lifesaving is one of the most fascinating sports at PHSG. Not only do we become extremely fit from swimming, but we also learn fresh water rescue techniques and CPR. Furthermore, we are taught how to deal with different injuries and also gain countless important life skills. In learning these essential water safety and aquatic rescue techniques, we are able to handle various types of emergency scenarios. Lifesaving is considered a sport, due to the fact that we compete with one another in relation to speed, skill and team work.

If participants wish to do so, they may write the National Lifesaving examinations and achieve junior lifeguard, lifeguard and finally lifesaving instructor certificates. These qualifications enable you to get jobs as lifeguards, for instance at swimming pools, water parks and dams over one's weekends and holidays.
