The Parents’
Association consists of parents elected annually by
the parent or guardian body, two members of PHSG’s
staff and a representative of the Old Girls’ Association.
During the course of a year various activities allow
parents to get to know the school better and create
ideal opportunities to network with parents whilst raising
funds for improving the environment of the learners.
- Our main fundraiser is the Annual
Spring Fair on the first Saturday of September.
The funds raised on the day are used for a particular
project and in the past have funded Computer Centres.
- We offer a Topic Evening which
always proves to be informative.
- There is an Extra Curricular
Fundraising Committee that supports various
activities and often subsidises costs for sporting
and/or cultural events. All money raised benefits
each particular learner.
- Parents also support the school by
means of providing a soft Security Service
as an additional safety measure at functions such
as the Valentines Ball for the Grade 11’s, the
Matric Dance and the subsequent Fashion Show. It must
to be stressed, however, that a Private Security Company
is contracted in the main.
- Our Stationery and Textbook
Project is a cost effective and easy one
stop way of shopping to obtain stationery and textbooks.
- On 6 May there will be a Concert
in the Garden – we invite you to join
us for a fun day listening to many talented performers
from the PHSG Music Department. This is an exciting
new dimension that has been taken on by the PA and
we hope it will be a huge success. Contact the school
for further details.
- Mother’s also support the school’s
Tuck Shop by working on a roster
system once every fortnight.
