CHESS

PHSG chess team placed 4th out of 10 participating schools.

HOCKEY

The first pool game for the PHSG 1st hockey team was a local derby against AHMP. The girls played as a team, defended well and utilised their opportunities which resulted in a 1-0 win against AHMP. This gave the team confidence which was evident in the rest of the pool games. PHSG ended 2nd in their pool and was ranked top 8 for tournament for the first time in 5 years. PHSG 1st hockey team placed 8th out of 18 participating schools. This was a very successful festival for our hockey team.

NETBALL

The 1st netball team played 5 pool matches on the 1st day of the festival. The 2nd day they played 3 matches against some of the toughest competition at the festival but that only motivated them to play even harder. PHSG 1st netball team placed 8th overall which is unfortunately 3 places lower than last year but is definitely not an indication of the effort and heart they played with. The netball team played 10 matches in total and won 6 of the 10.

SQUASH

The squash team played 7 matches of which they won 2. The competition was very tough but the squash team played their hearts out in every match. The team placed 7th in the festival which is in line with the results from 2017 and 2016.

TENNIS

A young tennis team participated in the National All Girls Festival and placed 12th out of 16 schools. The tennis team played against the top competitors at the festival but this only motivated them to play even harder and they did not make it easy for any of opponents.
