A group of 14 braved the icy cold of the Eastern Cape for the National Arts Festival in the July holiday. This annual pilgrimage takes PHSG learners to the world famous Owl House, the Kitching Fossil Institute and Battiss House before reaching the Festival.
Thereafter followed five days of "Amazing!" (in the words of the Festival). The girls experienced everything from the Afropoets music and Suzanne Vega, to workshops of choice to lectures and foreign movies which were interspersed with world class and moving theatre.
Everyone left Walker House res with some sadness after an exhilarating week away.
