With the guidance of Ms Dugmore and the staff of the hostels and the hostel kitchens, the boarders of School House and North Lodge spent Thursday afternoon icing 2100 donated cupcakes with bowls of donated frosting. By 19:30 that evening, covered in bright colours and glitter, the job was done and all that remained was to sell the sweet offerings.
Friday dawned and a host of ladies and gentlemen from the Party of Hope Foundation arrived at school to help with the sales in the Consumer Quad and in the Formal Gardens. The Gr 11 Boarders were dressed in hastily assembled fairy gear and to the sound of happy, upbeat music, the selling commenced in earnest.
In no time the tables had been cleared of all the products and a whopping R 12 800.00 had been raised for Children with Cancer. It was clear that many people allowed also their change to fill up the coffers. What a wonderful effort with magnificent results!
