On 12 August, the entirety of Girls' High gathered in the Formal Gardens to bestow, officially, a wheelchair and pads to those in need. The guests were welcomed by the melodious tunes of the Marimba band.
The wheelchair was donated to young boy from 'Little ABLE's' Children Sanctuary . The Contact Club has visited this organisation on multiple occasions and has devoted both their time and money to assisting. The rest of the pupils aided by collecting bottlecaps to help afford the wheelchair.
A Million Comforts is an organisation, launched by Dis-Chem, dedicated to helping girls by contributing sanitary wear. It's an on-going drive, as is the wheelchair initiative. These are very worthy schemes piloted by Ms Marais and Mrs van Heerden.
